We kicked off the Festival in style at Aguaviva who served up chilled drinks and hot beats. Guests received Ed Hardy and AFF temporary tattoos in honor of “Ed Hardy: Tattoo the World” opening this weekend’s Festival. Afterwards, we headed across the street to the Old Town Theater to screen the film with the director, Emiko Omori, who at 71 proved to be a fascinating character in her own right. She told the story behind her long friendship with Ed Hardy that began when he inked her own back tattoo in the 70′s. She reluctantly admitted to lately collecting tattoos as a sort of souvenir. Sheesh, that’s a lot more meaningful than the overpriced wine I end up with from the duty free.
