A gas flare is reflected in an oil waste put in the Amazon rainforest of Ecuador. From the film Crude, directed and produced by Joe Berlinger.
In yesterday’s review of “Crude,” the New York Times called Joe Berlinger’s documentary “thorough and impassioned” and praises Berlinger’s “strong narrative instinct” and “keen eye for incongruous, evocative and powerful images.”
“Crude” will be shown at the Film Festival on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 1:45 p.m. Attorney Steven Donziger, who is featured in the film, will attend the screening and answer questions from the audience about the film and its subject.
“Crude” has won several awards, including Grand Jury prizes from the Independent Film Festival of Boston and the Yale Environmental Film Festival. It was an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival and the Silverdocs Documentary Festival.
